Possible Causes
Door not sealing properly, Warm ambient temperature or poor ventilation, Failed evaporator fan, Low refrigerant charge or weak compressor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Always unplug the unit before adjusting door hardware or accessing internal fans.
Door and seal:
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and is not obstructed by ice or items in the bin.
- Inspect gasket: Look for tears, gaps, or hardened sections in the door gasket. Clean the gasket with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
- Test seal: Close the door on a sheet of paper and gently pull. If it slides out easily all around, the gasket may need replacement or the door hinges may need adjustment.
Ventilation and cooling:
- Verify that the ice maker has adequate clearance around vents and is not installed in a confined, unventilated space.
- Check that the evaporator fan motor and condenser fan motor are running when the compressor is on.
- Clean condenser coils to improve heat rejection.
If H1 persists: There may be a sealed system issue (refrigerant leak, weak compressor) requiring a professional refrigeration technician.
