How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and shut off water before cleaning. Use only food-safe cleaners.
Cleaning:
- Empty and discard all ice from the bin.
- Remove the ice bin (if removable) and wash with warm water and mild dish soap. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Run a full cleaning cycle with a manufacturer-approved ice machine cleaner to descale the evaporator, reservoir, and water lines.
Water quality:
- If your Summit model has an inline water filter, replace the water filter cartridge according to the schedule or sooner if taste issues occur.
- If household water has strong odors, consider installing an external filtration system.
After cleaning, discard the first few batches of ice.
