Possible Causes
Water supply turned off, Clogged water inlet valve screen, Failed water inlet valve, Refrigeration system failure (low charge, bad compressor)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and close the water supply valve before disconnecting water lines.
Water side:
- Confirm the household water shutoff valve to the Summit ice maker is fully open.
- Inspect the supply line for kinks or freezing.
- Access and clean the water inlet valve screen as described in the E5 procedure.
- If the reservoir does not fill during a cycle and voltage is present at the valve, replace the water inlet valve.
Cooling side:
- If the water reservoir fills but the evaporator plate never gets cold, check that the compressor and condenser fan are running.
- Clean condenser coils to improve performance.
- If the compressor runs but no cooling occurs, there may be a sealed system issue (refrigerant leak, restriction, or failed compressor) that requires a certified technician.
