Possible Causes
Faulty bin full sensor, Sensor blocked in "empty" position, Broken sensor wiring, Control board not responding to full signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working near the bin sensor.
Sensor inspection:
- Locate the bin full sensor (mechanical arm or infrared sensor) near the top of the bin.
- Clean the sensor surfaces and ensure no ice is wedged around the sensor arm or lenses.
- Check that the sensor arm (if present) moves freely and returns to its rest position.
Electrical:
- Inspect wiring to the sensor for damage and reseat connectors.
- If the sensor is clean and moves freely but the unit never stops, replace the bin full sensor assembly.
- If a new sensor does not correct the issue, the main control board may be defective.
