Possible Causes
Clogged drain line, Frozen drain, Improper drain hose slope, Faulty drain pump (on pump-equipped models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working on the drain system.
Drain line:
- Locate the internal drain outlet at the bottom of the bin or cabinet.
- Use a flexible brush or pipe cleaner to remove debris from the drain opening.
- Follow the drain hose to the household drain. Ensure it slopes downward continuously and is not kinked.
Frozen drain:
- If the drain is frozen, pour warm (not boiling) water into the drain opening until flow is restored.
Drain pump models:
- If your Summit ice maker has a built-in drain pump, listen for pump operation when water should be draining.
- If the pump hums but does not move water, or is silent, it may be blocked or failed and should be cleaned or replaced.
