Possible Causes
Loose main harness connector, Failed main control PCB, Damaged power supply board, Internal wiring short
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Teendow ice maker from the wall outlet before opening any panels. Never work on the unit while it is energized.
- Step 1 – Check outlet and cord: Plug a lamp or phone charger into the same outlet to confirm power. Inspect the Teendow power cord for cuts, burns, or kinks. Replace the cord if damaged.
- Step 2 – Inspect main harness connection: Remove the rear or side service panel (varies by Teendow model). Locate the main control PCB (usually behind the display). Verify the multi-pin harness from the power input board is fully seated and not burnt. Reseat all connectors firmly.
- Step 3 – Look for board damage: Examine the main control PCB for burnt spots, bulged capacitors, or corrosion. If present, the board is likely failed and should be replaced.
- Step 4 – Test low-voltage output (advanced): With a multimeter and the unit carefully plugged in, a qualified person can check for the specified DC voltage (often 5V or 12V) from the power supply board to the main PCB. If no low-voltage output is present, replace the power supply board.
- Step 5 – Replace main control PCB: If power supply is good but E1 persists and the display does not initialize, replace the main control PCB with a Teendow-compatible board. Transfer connectors one by one to avoid miswiring.
