Possible Causes
Clogged internal drain hose, Faulty drain pump (if equipped), Activated leak float switch, Cracked reservoir or hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker and place towels around the unit to catch any water.
- Step 1 – Inspect for visible leaks: Remove panels and look for dripping water, wet insulation, or pooled water in the base pan.
- Step 2 – Check drain path: For Teendow models with a gravity drain, ensure the drain hose is not kinked or elevated above the outlet. For pump-drain models, inspect the drain pump and hose for clogs.
- Step 3 – Clean drain components: Flush the drain hose with warm water. Remove and clean the drain pump inlet screen and impeller housing.
- Step 4 – Inspect leak float switch: Many units have a safety float in the base pan. Make sure it moves freely and is not stuck in the raised (leak) position. Dry the pan completely.
- Step 5 – Repair or replace parts: Seal or replace any cracked reservoir or hose. Replace a failed drain pump or leak float switch with Teendow-compatible components.
