How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before accessing the evaporator compartment.
- Step 1 – Access evaporator fan: Remove the interior panel behind the ice-making area to expose the evaporator coil and fan assembly.
- Step 2 – Clear ice and debris: If the fan is encased in ice, allow the unit to defrost fully. Use towels to catch meltwater. Do not chip ice with sharp tools.
- Step 3 – Inspect fan blades and motor: Check for broken blades or obstructions. Spin the fan by hand; it should rotate freely.
- Step 4 – Check wiring: Verify the fan motor connector is secure and wires are intact.
- Step 5 – Replace fan motor: If the fan does not run when the unit is on and wiring is good, install a Teendow-compatible evaporator fan motor and reassemble.
