Possible Causes
Stuck mechanical float, Dirty optical water level sensor, Faulty float switch, Disconnected sensor harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker before reaching into the reservoir.
- Step 1 – Verify actual water level: Remove the reservoir cover and confirm the water is at the correct fill line for your Teendow model.
- Step 2 – Free the float: If a plastic float is present, move it up and down by hand. Clean any slime or scale that may cause sticking.
- Step 3 – Clean optical sensor: For optical sensors, gently clean the sensor window with a soft cloth to remove film or mineral deposits.
- Step 4 – Check switch and wiring: Test the float switch for continuity when raised and lowered. Inspect wiring back to the control board.
- Step 5 – Replace sensor/float: If E15 persists, replace the water level float switch or optical sensor with a Teendow-compatible part.
