Possible Causes
Seized condenser fan motor, Obstructed fan blades, Failed fan motor capacitor (if equipped), Loose fan wiring connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker before working near the fan or compressor.
- Step 1 – Access condenser fan: Remove the rear or side panel to expose the condenser coil and fan assembly on your Teendow ice maker.
- Step 2 – Check for obstructions: Spin the fan blades by hand. Remove dust, plastic wrap, or debris that may be blocking rotation. The fan should spin freely.
- Step 3 – Inspect wiring: Confirm the fan motor connector is fully seated on the harness and that no wires are broken or burnt.
- Step 4 – Test fan motor: With power restored briefly, observe whether the fan starts when the compressor runs. If it hums but does not turn, the motor is likely seized or the capacitor (if present) is bad.
- Step 5 – Replace fan motor: Disconnect power again, remove mounting screws, and install a Teendow-compatible condenser fan motor (and capacitor if separate). Ensure blades are correctly oriented and clear of the shroud.
