Possible Causes
Faulty bin temperature sensor, Disconnected ambient thermistor, Shorted sensor harness, Control board sensor input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing sensors and wiring.
- Step 1 – Locate bin/ambient sensors: On Teendow ice makers, a small thermistor is often mounted near the ice storage bin and another near the air intake or control panel.
- Step 2 – Inspect mounting and cleanliness: Ensure sensors are firmly attached and not covered in ice, frost, or debris. Gently clean with a dry cloth.
- Step 3 – Check wiring: Follow the sensor leads back to the main control PCB. Reseat connectors and look for pinched or broken wires.
- Step 4 – Test resistance: Measure sensor resistance at room temperature and compare to Teendow specifications. Replace any sensor that reads open, shorted, or far out of range.
- Step 5 – Replace control board if needed: If known-good sensors still trigger E7, the control board’s sensor circuit may be defective and require replacement.
