Possible Causes
Blocked ice level sensor, Misaligned infrared emitter/receiver, Failed bin full switch, Disconnected sensor harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before reaching into the ice bin or sensor area.
- Step 1 – Empty the bin: Remove all ice from the storage bin to ensure the sensor is not actually blocked by ice.
- Step 2 – Clean sensor lenses: For Teendow models with infrared sensors, gently clean the emitter and receiver windows with a soft, dry cloth to remove frost and residue.
- Step 3 – Check mechanical switch (if equipped): Some models use a mechanical bin arm or switch. Verify the arm moves freely and the switch clicks when actuated. Clear any ice buildup.
- Step 4 – Inspect alignment: Ensure the IR emitter and receiver are directly facing each other and not bent out of position.
- Step 5 – Replace sensor: If E9 persists after cleaning and alignment, replace the ice bin full sensor assembly or switch with a Teendow-compatible part.
