How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and shut off water before cleaning.
- Step 1 – Discard old ice: Empty the ice bin completely.
- Step 2 – Clean bin and interior: Wash the ice bin, scoop, and interior surfaces with warm water and mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly.
- Step 3 – Descale water system: Run a full cleaning cycle with Teendow-approved ice maker cleaner to remove mineral and biofilm buildup.
- Step 4 – Flush water supply: Run water from the supply line into a bucket for several minutes before reconnecting to clear stagnant water.
- Step 5 – Air out new units: For new installations, run and discard the first 2–3 batches of ice to remove plastic odors.
