Possible Causes

Blown internal fuse on PCB, Defective main control board, Faulty power cord or plug, Open thermal cutoff

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the Teka ice maker from the mains before opening any panels. Do not work on live circuits.

  • Check outlet and power cord: Plug another appliance into the same outlet to confirm power. Inspect the Teka power cord for cuts, burns, or loose plug blades. Replace the cord if damaged.
  • Inspect rear access panel: Remove the rear or bottom service panel (depending on model). Look for a small inline fuse or PCB-mounted fuse on the main control board. If the fuse is visibly blown (darkened glass or broken filament), replace it with the exact same rating.
  • Check thermal cutoff: Some Teka ice makers have a thermal cutoff or overheat protector near the compressor or evaporator area. Test continuity with a multimeter; if open, replace the thermal cutoff and investigate for blocked ventilation.
  • Control board inspection: Examine the main control PCB for burnt components, bulged capacitors, or corrosion. If present, the board should be replaced as a complete assembly.
  • Reassemble and test: After replacing any suspect parts, reassemble panels, restore power, and check if the display lights up and the unit starts its self-test.
