Safety first: Disconnect power and, if connected to a gravity or pump drain, close any water supply before working on the unit.

• Inspect drain hose: Check the external drain hose for kinks, sharp bends, or clogs. Detach the hose from the house drain and flush it with water. Ensure the hose end is not submerged in standing water.
• Clean internal drain: Remove the ice bin and access the internal drain opening at the bottom of the evaporator area or sump. Clear any ice, scale, or debris using warm water and a soft brush.
• Check drain pump (if equipped): Access the drain pump assembly. Inspect for obstructions in the impeller housing. Spin the impeller by hand; if seized or noisy, replace the pump. Test the pump coil with a multimeter for continuity.
• Verify hose routing: Ensure the drain hose runs downward with no upward loops higher than the pump outlet. Correct routing to prevent backflow and siphoning issues.
• Reassemble and test: Reconnect hoses, restore power, and run a test cycle. Confirm that water drains promptly at the end of the harvest or flush cycle.
