Possible Causes

Defective condenser fan motor, Dirty condenser coil, Low refrigerant charge, Faulty high-temperature sensor or thermistor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the ice maker before cleaning or accessing internal components. Refrigerant work must be done by a certified technician.

  • Clean condenser coil: Remove the lower front or rear grille to access the condenser. Use a soft brush and vacuum to remove dust and lint from the coil fins. Ensure airflow is not blocked by cabinets or walls.
  • Check condenser fan: With the panel removed, inspect the condenser fan motor and blade. Spin the blade by hand; it should move freely. If the fan does not run when the unit is powered (and compressor is on), test the motor and replace if faulty.
  • Verify ventilation: Ensure the Teka ice maker has the required clearance around vents as specified in the manual. Poor ventilation can trigger high temperature errors.
  • Inspect temperature sensor: Locate the cabinet or evaporator thermistor connected to the control board. Check for loose connections or damaged wiring. Test resistance against the temperature chart in the service manual; replace the sensor if out of range.
  • Refrigerant issues: If the compressor runs continuously but cooling is weak and the condenser/fan are clean and working, the system may be low on refrigerant or have a sealed system fault. Contact an authorized refrigeration technician.
