Possible Causes

Open or shorted evaporator thermistor, Loose thermistor connection at control board, Damaged thermistor wiring harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains before accessing internal components.

  • Locate thermistor: The evaporator thermistor is usually clipped to the evaporator plate or tubing in the freezing compartment. Remove the front panel or bin to access it.
  • Inspect physically: Check that the thermistor is firmly attached to the evaporator surface and not hanging loose. Look for cracked casing or corroded connectors.
  • Test resistance: Disconnect the thermistor from the harness and measure its resistance with a multimeter at room temperature. Compare to the Teka service chart. If reading is open, shorted, or far out of spec, replace the thermistor.
  • Check wiring to PCB: Trace the harness back to the main control board. Ensure the connector is fully seated and wires are not pinched or cut. Repair or replace the harness if damaged.
  • Reset and test: After replacing the sensor, clear the error by unplugging for several minutes or using the reset function. Run a full ice cycle and confirm normal operation.
