Teka Ice Bin Level Sensor / Infrared Sensor Fault

E07 error, ice bin is empty but unit indicates bin full and stops making ice

Possible Causes

Blocked or dirty bin level sensor, Misaligned infrared emitter/receiver, Failed bin level switch, Disconnected sensor harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the ice bin or front panel.

  • Clean the bin sensor: Many Teka ice makers use an infrared sensor pair or mechanical switch to detect bin full. Wipe the sensor lenses or mechanical arm with a soft, damp cloth to remove ice dust and residue.
  • Check for obstructions: Make sure no ice chunks or foreign objects are blocking the sensor beam or jamming the mechanical lever.
  • Verify alignment: If the unit uses an IR emitter and receiver on opposite sides of the bin opening, ensure they are directly facing each other and not loose in their mounts.
  • Inspect wiring and switch: For mechanical bin switches, test continuity while moving the arm. Replace the switch if it does not change state. Check the harness connection to the control board and reseat if loose.
  • Reset and test: Reinstall the bin, restore power, and clear the error. Confirm that the unit resumes ice production and correctly stops when the bin is actually full.
