Possible Causes
Leaking water inlet hose connection, Cracked internal water reservoir, Loose pump or valve fittings, Activated base pan float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker and close the water supply immediately to prevent further leakage.
- Remove panels and inspect: Take off the front kick plate or side panels to inspect the base pan. Look for standing water and trace it back to the source.
- Check hose connections: Tighten hose clamps at the water inlet valve, circulation pump, and reservoir. Replace any cracked or swollen hoses.
- Inspect reservoir and sump: Look for hairline cracks in the plastic reservoir or sump. Replace the reservoir assembly if leaking.
- Reset leak sensor: Many Teka models use a float switch in the base pan. Dry the pan completely with towels and allow any foam float to drop back down. Test the float switch for proper operation and replace if stuck or faulty.
- Test under operation: Restore water and power, then run a cycle while observing for new leaks. Do not reinstall panels until you are sure the leak is resolved.
