E16 error, unit indicates low ambient temperature and stops ice production

Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing sensor wiring.

• Check installation location: Ensure the ice maker is installed within the ambient temperature range specified by Teka (typically above 10–13°C). Very cold rooms can trigger this error.
• Locate ambient sensor: The ambient thermistor is usually near the air intake grille or behind the front panel. Inspect for damage or dislodging into a colder area.
• Test thermistor: Measure resistance at room temperature and compare to the Teka resistance chart. Replace the sensor if readings are out of range.
• Inspect harness: Follow the sensor wires to the control board, checking for pinched or broken conductors. Repair or replace as needed.
• Reset and test: After replacing the sensor, clear the error and verify that the unit runs normally in the correct ambient conditions.
