Possible Causes
Water inlet valve not opening, Evaporator not reaching freezing temperature, Faulty ice thickness or harvest sensor, Low refrigerant charge
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water supply before internal checks.
- Confirm water supply: Ensure the water tap is open and the inlet hose is not kinked. Check the inlet filter for blockage and clean it.
- Check for freezing: After 20–30 minutes of operation, carefully touch the evaporator plate area (with insulated gloves). It should be very cold and forming a thin ice layer. If not, suspect a refrigeration issue and contact a technician.
- Inspect sensors: Clean the ice thickness and harvest sensors of any scale or residue. Misreading sensors can prevent harvest and stop ice production.
- Run cleaning cycle: Perform a full cleaning/descaling cycle to remove mineral buildup that can interfere with water flow and freezing.
- Professional service: If the compressor runs but the evaporator does not frost, a sealed system problem (leak, restriction, or weak compressor) is likely and requires a certified technician.
