Display shows E05, unit may not fill with water or stops mid-cycle

Safety First: Turn off the water supply and disconnect power before working on the water system. Have towels ready for any spills.

• Step 1 – Verify water supply: Confirm the household shutoff valve to the ice maker is fully open. Check that other fixtures on the same line have good pressure.
• Step 2 – Inspect supply line: Pull the unit out slightly and inspect the 1/4" water line for kinks, crushing, or freezing (if routed through a cold area). Straighten or thaw as needed.
• Step 3 – Check inlet valve screen: Turn off water. Remove the water line from the inlet valve at the back or bottom of the unit. Inspect the valve’s inlet screen for sediment. Clean gently with a small brush.
• Step 4 – Test valve coil: With power disconnected, remove the electrical connectors from the valve. Measure coil resistance with a multimeter. An open coil indicates a failed valve.
• Step 5 – Replace water inlet valve: If the coil is open or the valve is mechanically stuck, remove mounting screws, disconnect tubing (note orientation), and install the new valve. Use new compression ferrules if needed and check for leaks.
• Step 6 – Restore and test: Turn water back on, check for leaks, then restore power. Clear E05 by power-cycling if necessary and run a full ice cycle.

If E05 persists with a known-good valve and water supply, the control board may not be energizing the valve and should be checked by a technician.
