Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Disconnect power before accessing the evaporator plate or heater wiring. Surfaces may be sharp and edges cold enough to cause injury.
- Step 1 – Confirm symptom: Ice forms on the evaporator plate but will not release; E07 appears and the cycle aborts.
- Step 2 – Access evaporator area: Remove the ice bin and inner cover to expose the evaporator plate and surrounding components.
- Step 3 – Inspect heater wiring: Look for broken or disconnected wires leading to the harvest heater attached to or behind the evaporator plate.
- Step 4 – Test heater element: Disconnect heater leads and measure resistance across the heater. An open circuit indicates a failed heater.
- Step 5 – Check harvest thermostat/thermistor: Locate the sensor controlling harvest temperature. Test resistance and compare to spec. Replace if open/shorted.
- Step 6 – Replace failed components: If the heater is open, replace the evaporator harvest heater assembly. Ensure it is properly secured and not contacting plastic parts.
If heater and sensor test good but E07 persists, the main control board may not be energizing the heater and should be evaluated or replaced by a technician.
