How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Disconnect power before working near sensors or wiring.
- Step 1 – Verify sensor type: Determine if your model uses an infrared sensor or mechanical bin arm.
- Step 2 – Clean and inspect sensor: Remove ice and clean sensor lenses. Ensure nothing blocks the sensor path.
- Step 3 – Test sensor function: With the bin removed, observe if the unit recognizes an "empty" condition and with a hand or object blocking the sensor, if it should indicate "full". If no change, replace the sensor.
If a new sensor does not correct the issue, the control board may be ignoring the full-bin signal and should be replaced.
