E5
Vestfrost
Water Inlet / Flow Fault
Display shows E5; ice maker stops; water does not enter the unit or stops mid-cycle due to water error.

Possible Causes
Closed or partially closed water supply valve, Clogged inlet water filter or screen, Failed water inlet solenoid valve, Low incoming water pressure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and close the water supply valve before disconnecting any hoses.
Steps to resolve E5:
- Check water supply: Ensure the building water supply valve feeding the Vestfrost ice maker is fully open. Verify that other fixtures on the same line have good pressure.
- Inspect inlet hose: Look for kinks, sharp bends, or crushing in the flexible inlet hose. Straighten or replace if damaged.
- Clean inlet screen: Disconnect the inlet hose at the back of the ice maker. Inside the valve connection, there is usually a small mesh filter. Remove and rinse this screen under running water to clear debris.
- Test water flow: Briefly open the supply valve with the hose directed into a bucket to confirm strong flow from the building supply. Close valve again afterward.
- Check inlet valve coil: With power disconnected, access the water inlet valve and measure coil resistance with a multimeter. A reading of open circuit (OL) indicates a failed coil. Replace the valve if defective.
- Reassemble and test: Reconnect the hose, open the water valve, restore power, and run a test cycle to confirm that E5 is cleared and water fills correctly.
Note: If your water supply pressure is below the Vestfrost minimum specification, a booster pump may be required.
