Water Level Sensor / Float Switch Error
Display shows E7; ice maker stops; water may overflow or not reach correct level in the reservoir.

Possible Causes
Stuck or scaled float in water reservoir, Faulty water level sensor, Loose or corroded sensor connector, Debris in reservoir interfering with float movement
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and close the water supply valve. Be prepared for some water spillage when opening the reservoir.
Steps to resolve E7:
- Access reservoir: Remove the front panel or top cover to access the water reservoir and float assembly.
- Inspect float movement: Gently move the float up and down. It should move freely without sticking. If it is stuck due to scale or slime, remove the float and clean it with warm water and a food-safe descaler.
- Clean reservoir: Drain the reservoir completely. Wipe down all surfaces and remove any debris or biofilm that could interfere with the float or sensor.
- Check sensor wiring: Inspect the wiring from the float or electronic level sensor to the control board. Reseat connectors and look for corrosion.
- Test sensor (if switch type): Use a multimeter to check continuity of the float switch in both positions. Replace the water level sensor / float switch if readings are inconsistent.
- Reassemble and test: Refill the reservoir, open the water supply, restore power, and run a cycle to confirm that E7 is cleared and water level is correct.
Tip: Regular descaling of the water circuit will reduce future float and sensor issues.
