Ice maker interior surfaces and evaporator show heavy white scale deposits.

Safety: Unplug the unit and close the water supply. Use only manufacturer-approved descaling chemicals and follow label instructions.

Steps to remove scale:

• Empty bin and reservoir: Discard all ice and drain the water reservoir.
• Apply descaler: Mix descaling solution according to Vestfrost or chemical manufacturer instructions. Circulate through the water system or apply directly to scaled surfaces as directed.
• Scrub gently: Use a soft brush to loosen heavy deposits on the evaporator, reservoir, and spray nozzles.
• Rinse thoroughly: Flush the system with fresh water multiple times to remove all chemical residues.
• Implement water treatment: Consider installing a water softener or dedicated ice machine filter to reduce future scale buildup.

Note: Severe long-term scale can permanently damage components; replacement of the evaporator plate or other parts may be required in extreme cases.
