Possible Causes
Loose panels or mounting screws, Vibrating refrigerant lines touching cabinet, Worn fan motor bearings, Ice contacting fan blades
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before tightening screws or adjusting components.
Steps to reduce noise:
- Level the unit: Use a spirit level and adjust the Vestfrost ice maker's feet so it sits firmly on the floor without rocking.
- Tighten panels: Check all accessible screws on side, rear, and front panels. Tighten any that are loose.
- Inspect refrigerant lines: Look for copper tubes touching each other or the cabinet. Gently reposition them so they do not vibrate against surfaces.
- Check fans: Access condenser and evaporator fans. Remove any ice or debris from blades and listen for grinding that indicates worn bearings. Replace the fan motor if necessary.
Note: Some compressor hum is normal, but loud rattling or grinding should be corrected promptly.
