Possible Causes
Clogged internal drain hole, Ice chips blocking drain, Kinked internal drain hose, Drain line installed without proper slope
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working inside the bin or drain area.
Steps to clear internal drain:
- Locate drain hole: Find the drain opening at the bottom of the bin or ice-making compartment.
- Remove blockage: Use a soft brush or plastic tool to remove ice chips or debris from the drain opening. Do not use metal objects that can damage the liner.
- Flush with warm water: Pour warm (not boiling) water into the drain to melt any ice and push debris through the hose.
- Check hose routing: Access the rear or bottom of the unit to ensure the drain hose slopes continuously downward to the drain point without kinks.
Tip: Regularly cleaning the bin and drain reduces odors and overflow issues.
