Door Switch / Bin Switch Fault
E10 error; unit may not recognize door/baffle position or may not start

Possible Causes
Failed bin door switch, Misaligned door or actuator, Broken switch wiring, Faulty control board input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before working around the door or bin area. Moving parts can pinch fingers.
- Step 1 – Check door closure: Ensure the bin door closes fully and that any actuator tab or magnet properly engages the switch area.
- Step 2 – Locate door/bin switch: On many Viking ice makers, a small micro-switch or magnetic reed switch is mounted near the bin opening. Inspect for physical damage or loose mounting screws.
- Step 3 – Test switch continuity: With power off, disconnect the switch wires and use a multimeter to check continuity while opening and closing the door. Replace the switch if it does not change state reliably.
- Step 4 – Inspect wiring harness: Look for broken or pinched wires between the switch and control board. Repair or replace as needed.
- Step 5 – Control board check: If a known-good switch and wiring still result in E10, the control board input may be defective and require replacement.
After repair, restore power and verify that the unit recognizes door open/close correctly and that the E10 code is cleared.
