Possible Causes
Stuck relay on control board, Bin sensor circuit shorted, Software/firmware glitch, Miswired sensor harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before accessing the control board.
- Step 1 – Confirm bin full signal: Manually simulate a bin full condition (e.g., by warming the bin thermistor or blocking an optical sensor) and see if the unit responds. If not, suspect control issues.
- Step 2 – Inspect harness: Check for shorts or pinched wires in the bin sensor harness.
- Step 3 – Examine control board: Look for stuck or welded relays and burnt traces. Replace the main control board if relays are stuck closed.
After repair, verify that the unit cycles off when the bin is full and resumes when ice is removed.
