Possible Causes
Blocked condenser airflow, Failed condenser fan, Dirty condenser coil, Faulty high-temperature sensor or thermal switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker and allow it to cool before servicing. Hot components can cause burns.
- Check installation clearance: Ensure there is adequate space around the Weasy ice maker for ventilation (refer to manual, typically several inches on all sides and rear).
- Clean condenser coil: Remove the rear panel and use a soft brush and vacuum to remove dust and lint from the condenser fins.
- Verify condenser fan operation: See E07 procedure. A non-running fan will quickly cause overheating.
- Locate the high-temp sensor or thermal switch: On many Weasy models, a thermal cutoff or NTC sensor is attached near the compressor or condenser.
- Inspect and test sensor: Check for loose mounting or damaged wires. Use a multimeter to test continuity (for a thermal switch) or resistance (for an NTC) according to the service data. Replace if open when it should be closed, or if resistance is far out of spec.
- Reset and test: After cleaning and any part replacement, allow the unit to cool fully, then restore power and run a cycle. Monitor for recurrence of E08.
