Possible Causes
Blocked ice level sensor window by frost or scale, Misaligned infrared emitter/receiver, Failed ice level sensor board, Loose sensor harness connection
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before working inside the ice bin area.
- Locate the ice level sensor: In many Weasy ice makers, an infrared emitter and receiver are mounted on opposite sides of the ice bin opening.
- Clean sensor windows: Use a soft cloth dampened with warm water to gently clean the sensor lenses. Remove any frost, mineral deposits, or grease.
- Check alignment: Ensure both sides of the sensor pair are firmly mounted and facing each other directly. Tighten any loose mounting screws.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor harness back to the control board. Reseat the connector and check for pinched or broken wires.
- Test operation: After cleaning, restore power and start a cycle. Observe whether the unit now stops ice production when the bin is full and resumes when ice is removed.
- Replace the ice level sensor assembly (emitter/receiver pair or combined board) if cleaning and reseating do not clear E09.
