Observe harvest attempt: When powered, watch the harvest cycle. If the grid does not move or the ice slab remains stuck, note whether you hear the harvest motor or hot gas valve click.
Access harvest components: Remove the front cover and ice bin to expose the evaporator grid and harvest mechanism.
Check for mechanical jams: Look for broken ice pieces, plastic, or scale blocking the grid movement. Clear obstructions carefully.
Test harvest motor: For Weasy models with a harvest motor, disconnect and measure motor resistance. An open circuit indicates failure. Ensure the motor gear is not stripped.
Inspect hot gas valve: Locate the hot gas solenoid near the compressor. Check wiring and listen for a click during harvest. Measure coil resistance; replace if open.
Replace the harvest motor or hot gas valve if they fail electrical tests or do not actuate during the cycle.
