Possible Causes
Open or shorted ambient NTC sensor, Sensor dislodged from mounting location, Damaged sensor wiring, Faulty control board sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing any covers.
- Locate the ambient sensor: On many Weasy ice makers, a small NTC sensor is mounted near the air intake grille or behind the front panel.
- Inspect sensor and wiring: Check that the sensor is intact and its wires are not pinched or cut.
- Test resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to the Weasy NTC chart. Replace if open, shorted, or far out of range.
- Secure mounting: Ensure the sensor is positioned where it can accurately sense room air, not touching hot components.
- Replace the ambient temperature sensor if defective. If a new sensor does not clear E16, the main control board may be at fault.
