How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and water. Wear gloves and eye protection when using cleaners.
- Remove ice and parts: Empty the bin and remove any removable parts such as the bin, reservoir cover, and spray bar.
- Deep clean: Scrub all affected surfaces with warm soapy water, then apply a Whirlpool-approved ice machine cleaner and sanitizer. Follow contact times on the product label.
- Clean drain system: Flush the drain line with hot water and a mild disinfectant to remove slime.
- Reassemble and sanitize cycle: Reassemble, restore water and power, and run a cleaning/sanitizing cycle if your model supports it. Discard the first batches of ice.
- Establish routine: Clean and sanitize at least every 6 months, or more often in warm or humid environments.
