How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit and shut off water before cleaning.

  • Discard old ice: Empty the ice bin completely.
  • Clean interior surfaces: Wash the bin, reservoir, and accessible water-contact surfaces with a mixture of warm water and mild detergent, then rinse. Follow with a Whirlpool-approved ice machine cleaner and sanitizer per label directions.
  • Replace water filter (if present): Install a new Whirlpool filter and flush several gallons of water.
