Ice maker will not power on, display is blank or only backlight is on, no internal fan or compressor noise.

Safety first: Disconnect the Zanussi ice maker from the mains supply before removing any panels. Do not work on live circuits.

• Check wall outlet and cord: Plug a lamp or tester into the same outlet to confirm power. Inspect the Zanussi power cord for cuts, burns, or kinks. Replace the cord if damaged.
• Inspect power switch: On models with a front or side rocker switch, remove the control panel trim, disconnect the switch, and test continuity with a multimeter. Replace the switch if it does not close when turned ON.
• Access main control board: Remove the rear or lower service panel to access the Zanussi control PCB. Look for a small onboard fuse; test it with a meter and replace with the same rating if open.
• Check wiring harness: Verify that the mains input connector is fully seated on the PCB and that no wires are burnt or loose at the terminal block.
• Board inspection: Look for burnt tracks, bulged capacitors, or scorch marks on the control board. If present, the board should be replaced rather than repaired in the field.
• Reassemble and test: After replacing any faulty parts, reassemble all covers, restore power, and confirm that the display and fans start normally.
