Possible Causes
Defective water inlet valve coil, Blocked inlet screen or filter, Low mains water pressure, Kinked or frozen inlet hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the ice maker and close the water supply valve before working on the water circuit.
- Check water supply: Confirm the household shutoff valve to the Zanussi ice maker is fully open. Disconnect the inlet hose at the rear and run it into a bucket to verify strong flow.
- Inspect hose: Straighten any kinks and ensure the hose is not frozen (for units in cold locations). Replace damaged hoses.
- Clean inlet screen: Remove the hose from the water inlet valve. Use needle-nose pliers to pull out the small mesh filter and rinse it under running water to remove debris.
- Test valve coil: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the valve wiring and measure coil resistance. Compare to Zanussi specifications. An open coil indicates a failed valve that must be replaced.
- Replace valve if needed: Remove mounting screws, swap in the new Zanussi-compatible inlet valve, transfer hoses one by one, and tighten clamps securely.
- Restore and test: Turn on water, check for leaks, reconnect power, and start a cycle to confirm that the reservoir fills and E05 clears.
