Possible Causes
Stuck mechanical float, Faulty water level sensor, Mineral buildup in reservoir, Loose sensor wiring to control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and close the water supply before opening the unit.
- Access reservoir: Remove the top or front cover to reach the water tank and float assembly used in Zanussi ice makers.
- Inspect float movement: Manually move the float up and down. It should move freely without sticking. Clean any scale or slime with warm water and a mild, food-safe cleaner.
- Clean level sensor: If your model uses an electronic level sensor, gently wipe the sensor probes with a soft cloth to remove mineral deposits.
- Check wiring: Trace the float or sensor wires back to the control board. Ensure connectors are tight and not corroded.
- Test switch: For mechanical float switches, disconnect and test continuity while moving the float. Replace the switch if it does not open/close correctly.
- Reassemble and test: Refill the reservoir, restore power and water, and run a cycle. If E06 persists with a new sensor, the control board input may be defective.
