Possible Causes
Burnt-out condenser fan motor, Blocked fan blades by dust or debris, Faulty fan capacitor (if fitted), Loose or damaged fan wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains power before removing rear panels.
- Access condenser fan: Remove the rear lower service panel to expose the condenser coil and fan assembly.
- Clean area: Vacuum dust and debris from the condenser coil and fan guard. Ensure nothing is physically blocking the blades.
- Check fan movement: Spin the blades by hand. If stiff or seized, the motor is likely defective and should be replaced.
- Test motor: Disconnect the fan wiring and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates failure.
- Inspect capacitor (if present): Some Zanussi models use a small capacitor for the fan. If the fan hums but will not start, the capacitor may be faulty and should be replaced with the same µF rating.
- Replace fan: Remove mounting screws, swap in the new condenser fan motor, transfer the fan blade if separate, and reconnect wiring.
- Reassemble and test: Refit the panel, restore power, and confirm the fan runs with the compressor and that E08 clears.
