Possible Causes
Failed cabinet thermistor, Thermistor dislodged from mounting point, Damaged sensor wiring, Faulty control board ADC circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing interior panels.
- Locate thermistor: The cabinet temperature sensor is usually behind an interior panel or clipped to the liner in Zanussi ice makers.
- Inspect placement: Ensure the sensor is properly clipped in place and not hanging loose or touching the evaporator directly.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness for cuts or pinched sections, especially where it passes through cabinet holes.
- Test thermistor: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to Zanussi specifications. Replace if readings are open, shorted, or far out of range.
- Replace if needed: Install a new thermistor in the same location, routing the wire as originally installed.
- Reassemble and test: Restore power and run a cycle. Confirm that the temperature reading is stable and that E11 does not return.
