E16 displayed, internal memory or configuration error, unit may not start cycles or settings are lost.

• Power reset: Disconnect power for at least 5 minutes to allow the control to fully discharge, then reconnect and check if E16 clears.
• Check supply quality: Avoid using unstable power sources or undersized extension leads. Use a surge protector if your mains supply is prone to spikes.
• Inspect control board: Remove the control housing and look for visible damage such as burnt components or corrosion.
• Factory reset: If the user manual provides a key sequence for factory reset, perform it to reload default settings.
• Replace control board: If E16 persists, replace the main control board with the correct Zanussi part number, transferring any configuration jumpers as per the service documentation.
• Test: Reassemble, restore power, and verify that the unit starts and retains settings.
