Safety: Disconnect power and close water supply before working near the evaporator.

Locate thickness sensor: On Zanussi ice makers, this is typically a probe or paddle near the ice plate or water curtain.
Clean sensor: Gently remove mineral deposits with warm water and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive pads that can damage the sensor.
Check alignment: Ensure the sensor is positioned at the correct distance from the ice plate as specified in the service manual. Adjust mounting screws if necessary.
Inspect wiring: Verify that the sensor harness is intact and firmly connected to the control board.
Replace sensor if needed: If cleaning and alignment do not help, install a new Zanussi-compatible ice thickness sensor.
Calibrate: Some models allow sensor calibration via service mode. Follow Zanussi procedures to recalibrate ice thickness.
Test cycles: Run several ice cycles and confirm consistent cube size and that E17 does not reappear.
