Possible Causes
Cracked water reservoir, Loose hose connection, Leaking water inlet valve body, Blocked internal drain causing overflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and turn off the water supply immediately to prevent further leakage.
- Access base pan: Remove the front kick plate or rear panel to inspect the base of the Zanussi ice maker for standing water.
- Dry and inspect: Use towels or a wet/dry vacuum to remove water. Once dry, look for mineral trails or drip marks that indicate the leak source.
- Check hoses and clamps: Inspect all visible water lines and clamps from the inlet valve to the reservoir and evaporator. Tighten or replace any loose or cracked fittings.
- Inspect reservoir and tank: Look for hairline cracks or seams leaking on the plastic reservoir. Replace the reservoir if damaged.
- Check inlet valve body: Examine the valve for leaks around the solenoid or plastic housing. Replace the valve if it seeps when pressurized.
- Clear internal drains: Ensure internal drain channels are not blocked by scale or debris, which can cause overflow into the base pan.
- Reset leak sensor: Once the leak is repaired and the base is dry, reset or dry the leak sensor and restore power. Confirm that E18 clears and no new leaks appear.
