Possible Causes
Ice thickness sensor misaligned, Faulty evaporator thermistor, Control board not terminating freeze cycle correctly, Water flow too high
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and water before adjustments.
- Check ice thickness setting: Reduce the thickness setting on the control panel if available and observe results.
- Inspect thickness sensor: Ensure the sensor probe or paddle is correctly positioned and not bent closer to the ice plate than specified.
- Verify thermistor: Test the evaporator thermistor for correct resistance. Replace if readings are out of range, causing the control to misjudge freeze time.
- Check water flow: Ensure the water inlet valve is not stuck partially open, causing excessive water on the plate. Replace the valve if it leaks when de-energized.
