Possible Causes
Faulty touch control glass panel, Damaged keypad ribbon cable, Loose connector between UI and main PCB, Failed user interface PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before removing the control panel.
- Step 1 – Power cycle: Unplug the microwave for 5 minutes, then reconnect. Sometimes E07 is cleared by a full reset.
- Step 2 – Clean panel surface: Wipe the touch glass with a soft, dry cloth. Moisture or heavy grease can interfere with capacitive touch sensors on some AEG models.
- Step 3 – Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel fascia (usually held by screws behind the trim). Check the flat ribbon cable between the touch panel and the control PCB for kinks, cracks, or corrosion. Reseat both ends.
- Step 4 – Check for physical damage: Look for cracks in the glass touch panel or signs of liquid ingress. If damaged, replace the complete touch control assembly.
- Step 5 – UI PCB replacement: If wiring and panel are intact but E07 persists, the user interface PCB may be defective and should be replaced with the correct AEG part.
