Possible Causes
Contaminated humidity sensor, Failed humidity sensor module, Loose sensor connector, Faulty sensor input on control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the microwave before removing covers.
- Step 1 – Clean cavity: Wipe down the interior, especially near the steam outlet and sensor area (often on the top of the cavity). Remove grease and food splatter that can affect readings.
- Step 2 – Locate sensor: On many AEG models, the humidity sensor is mounted behind a small grille inside the cavity or in the top duct. Access it from the top after removing the outer cover.
- Step 3 – Inspect and clean: Gently clean the sensor surface with a dry cloth or cotton swab. Do not use excessive moisture.
- Step 4 – Check wiring: Ensure the sensor connector is firmly seated on the control PCB and that the harness is undamaged.
- Step 5 – Replace sensor: If E11 persists, replace the humidity sensor module with the correct AEG part. If still unresolved, the control PCB may be defective.
