Microwave displays F2 and may stop cooking; sometimes appears after running for a short time or when pressing certain keys.

Safety First: Disconnect power before removing any panels. Avoid contact with internal high-voltage components.

• Reset power: Unplug the microwave for 5 minutes, then reconnect and test. If F2 returns immediately when pressing a specific key, that key is likely shorted.
• Clean keypad surface: Wipe the keypad with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry thoroughly. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the panel.
• Inspect keypad ribbon: Remove the control panel and check the flat ribbon cable for kinks, burns, or corrosion. Reseat the connector on the control board.
• Test keypad: If available, use the unit’s built-in keypad test (service mode) or a multimeter to check continuity across keypad matrix lines. A permanently closed circuit indicates a shorted keypad.
• Replace components as needed: If the keypad is shorted, replace the control panel/keypad assembly. If the keypad tests good but F2 persists, the main control board may need replacement.
