Microwave displays LOC or a lock icon; keypad does not respond to most buttons.

Safety First: No internal repair is needed for this condition.

• Disable control lock: On most Amana models, press and hold the Cancel or Off button, or a dedicated Control Lock key, for 3–5 seconds until the LOC indicator disappears. Refer to the user manual for the exact key combination.
• Test keypad: After unlocking, press several keys to confirm normal operation.
• If LOC will not clear: Perform a power reset by unplugging the microwave for 5 minutes. If the lock remains stuck, the keypad or control board may be faulty and require service.
